Why do we fall Sir?
Picking up one thing at a time...
My love for Radiohead is something in explainable, they make sad songs, without hope and full of melancholy, how could you possibly rejoice that? But I still somewhere play it in my head, “To get to the light, you have to go to the dark first”, The sadness is something which comes as a part in the journey of rejoice. I replay the scene from Batman, where Wayne looks up at the burning elevator, and with guilt in his voice speaks, “I wanted to save Gotham, I failed” to which Alfred gives us one of the most life changing dialogues, “Why do we fall, Sir?… So that we can pick ourselves back up”, this scene is almost glued in my head, The exact words work true in real life too, you will face hundreds of people you think would be yours to keep but it doesn’t happen, they’d go away at the worst possible time and leave you dreading.
Ever heard of Murphy’s law, destiny and all the literature around it, but the funny thing is say whatever you may, things will go wrong at the worst possible time, if you keep this in mind you’d be calm when they actually do, now my opinion seems quite controversial here, but sadness and melancholy are the ways to go forward, when your head is down you see the path better, you see yourself as a reflection in the water puddle on the road, that is where you find who you are and what you can do, and to sugarcoat it nothing comes easily, and the things which do come easily fade away in no time. The thing is it is important to know when you are down, it is a message for greater things to come, people say hope is overrated but hope is what drives us each day, the uncertainty about what next keeps us going to run that marathon even when we are tired and our legs want to give up. I say feed onto that sadness make it fuel and cross that finish line, just as Batman did in the dark knight trilogy, Remember the cave looks scary only when you are at its bottom.
